About IQAC

The quality assurance processes, with regard to academics, administrative, is the integral part of the institutional policy. IQAC was started in 2016 in the name of Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) with Mr.S.Karthikeyan, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering as the Coordinator later rechristened as IQAC. This cell is playing a pro-active role and works with a motto ofProgress through Process Control“. In order to fulfill the mission of the institution, continuous improvement in the quality of services rendered including the teaching-learning process, frequent audits are conducted by the IQAC and potential areas for the growth is identified. The IQAC is integrated as an active and effective advisory body to suggest inputs not only for ensuring academic progress and also for infrastructural and other development activities of the institution.

The main aim of the cell is to initiate, plan and supervise different activities which are important to maintain and improve the quality of education. IQAC has member representatives from the top management, teaching, students and stake holders for getting diversified suggestions for continuous improvement. IQAC is a significant body of the institution which monitors the process of teaching, learning and evaluation. It takes the responsibility of generating and promoting awareness in the institution regarding multi-level quality sustenance activities and implementing new ones for attaining excellence.

  1. To ensure quality culture as the prime concern for the Institutions through internalization and Institutionalization of quality enhancement initiatives.

Mission

  1. To ensure periodic assessment and accreditation of all the academic programmes and extension activities.
  2. To encourage departments to establish student Learning-centric environment, to use ICT tools for teaching and learning process and to inculcate value–based education system.
  3. To make self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations as an ongoing process in the institution
  4. Developing realistic and attainable quality benchmarks for each of the academic and administrative activity through plan of action, internal assessment, etc.
  5. To collaborate with other stakeholders for quality evaluation and promotion.

Functions

  1. Developing ethical work culture in the Institute
  2. Improving the academic and administrative performance of the Institution
  3. Organizing inter and intra Institutional Workshops, Seminars, Project Exhibition and Research activities
  4. Playing as a nodal agency of the institute for coordinating various activities ensuring quality including adoption and dissemination of best methods and practices
  5. IQAC conducts annual presentations that cover the activities and achievements of all departments. The presentations done by all departments at the end of each academic year helps all to know the various innovative teaching and learning practices followed by others. The discussions that ensue facilitate modifications, improvements and rectifications.
  6. Ensuring a learner-centric ambience conducive for quality education and for continual improvement
  7. Emphasize faculty expertise to adopt the knowledge, technology and innovations for participatory teaching and learning process
  8. Inviting suggestions and recommendations from students, parents and stakeholders on quality emphasizing institutional policies & processes
  9. Documentation of all the activities leading to quality improvement.
